
Rufaro Magutsa’s enthusiasm for hairdressing started whenever she was obviously a little female and residing in Zimbabwe. Magutsa had been intrigued by the girl braiding hair during primary college recess, but when she requested to learn, the response she obtained was unwelcoming.
“Those phrases stuck with me personally and I utilized those phrases since the fuel to show myself, ” stated Magutsa, who also began training hairdressing on dolls.
After moving to the United States at 12, Magutsa practiced on her behalf own hair and used her sibling as a guinea pig. This way Magutsa could save her mother time, because she was busy learning at the University associated with Indianapolis being a mature college student.
“The convenience of having the ability to proceed to someone’s house and just finding somebody that’s constant and steady enough to obtain was the challenging part, ” said Magutsa. She grew to become the convenient hairstylist who else provided the girl services with her mother’s buddies and their children.
When she completed her business management diploma at Humber College within Ontario, she was forced to decide whether to obtain your office job or go after her passion for tresses.
“I was fortunate enough to get a supportive companion who encouraged me to visit hairdressing school, ” said Magutsa.
Moving to Canada led Magutsa to get her hairdressing license through the Aveda Institute in Toronto, where the girl gained experience handling diverse hair designs.
After working with regard to Aveda hair salons and spas in Toronto and Edmonton for seven years, within 2019, Magutsa finally opened her own beauty salon in Edmonton, Faffs Curly hair Studio , which is of interest to customers with almost all hair types. She offers a wide range of tresses services, locks products, customized wigs, plus satin locks bonnets.
Sharing her enthusiasm and skill, Magusta recently volunteered the girl salon’s design services with Calgary’s Africa Fashion Week . Faffs Hair Studio hopes to apply intended for grants and loans that will enable the facility to show aspiring hairstylists to work along with diverse hair textures.
